Limerick, Jack! I'm sure you didn't stop long--Dubs never do. And they're right. Thanks for the thoughts, and for the lovely wildflowers on your blog today.

Part of a longish wander in the West took me through Limerick a week or so ago. And while passing (quickly) through I couldn't help thinking about you. Even though I wouldn't know you from Eve...
And about how you write your life.

Dear Dervala

I have been visiting you site for some time and enjoy your writings a great deal. I live in London and Dublin and visit the Bay Area frequently, as I used to live here during the sixties and seventies and have many friends here and a daughter, husband and two grandchildren in Palo Alto. I'm in San Francisco now staying with old friends in Russian Hill and may or may not go to Burning Man. I have been working on a Playa vehicle, the Mind Rover with a group of B.M. early adopters for the past week and enjoying trying to sort out the electrics of a what was once a 1990 Camry. My girlfriend who lives in Killiney arrives tomorrow for our remaining three weeks. I am an inventor and have built and tested a prototype solar water heater in Tenerife that I intend to market. It's claim to fame is that it will be the first mass produced inexpensive solar water heater. My daughter , Tristan, lived in Dublin for several years in the late eighties and early nineteis and worked with Diedre O'Connel at the Focus Theatre.

Anyway I just thought I'd say hello,... gas from a burner....keep up wth the writing.

Dear Fellow Recent NYC->SFO Transplant:

Quit missing New York, I think it's contagious.

Love always,
r?b?t

P.S. I moved in January, should I still use the word "Recent"?

Oh my God, do people really write "Renaissance *Fayre*"? "Faire" is bad enough. My folks used to live in a neighborhood in Philly called Old City, and as it got gentrified it turned into Olde City; a standing joke was that we expected to eventually see a bar called the Olde Citie Pube.

oh i so missed out on a great night! glad all my favorite chicks had such a good time though (although yes i am envious).

hmmm Buscemi thats a little tough and while i see where you are coming from with Murray not so sure i could go through with that one...

ahh the comfortable life of sf...as you know in my on-going debate whether or not to move back that plays big part. is comfortable good? bad? lazy? really nice? does nyc & brooklyn challenge you more as a person? do you need that?

i'll be out again in the fall we'll have to have a girls night out then!
