Sorry to hear about your friend. She sounds like an incredible woman. I stumbled across this posting because I was trying to google the phrase: “alligator in gold lam�” and this is about the only site on the internet that has those words. They are from the Tom Robbins book Still Life with Woodpecker, a strange unhinged dangerously nihilistic book that is written in a style I may one day come within %10 of emulating. If you haven’t read it, you should. Obviously Pat loved the book – I think you will as well.

Thank you for sharing the Pat Experience with us. I am sorry for the loss you feel now, but don’t beat yourself up too much. Its a lesson for all of us…anyone can go at anytime and its easy to get caught up in our own forward movement. I’m sure she’d understand completely.

I am sorry Dervala; I’ve done a similar thing myself, so easy to let people slip out of our lives and then. Go easy on yourself and remember the things you shared and what you learned from this passionate wonderful woman.
