Fáilte ar ais! I've missed you!

Its nice to see that such normal life still exists in America. I was at Brome Fair last year - in the beautiful eastern townships of Montreal - and it reminded me of the Limerick Show that I used to go to as a child, most of the time sneaking in over the back-fence of Trehy's house, which backed onto the Race Course. 

My Mom hoped that by teaching me to bake she would get to retire early. I peaked too soon though - I won 1st Prize for my buns (madeira mix, fancy toppings) in the under-10 category on my first outing, and promptly retired from all baking, feeling quite the prodigy. 

So I never won another prize for my buns, and no amount of fancy toppings (or yogic toning :-) ) is going to fix that at this stage. 

But thanks for sweet madeira memory.
